Township record book of the Borough of Michilimackinac, later the Village of Mackinac (Mackinac Island, Mich.). The book, March 15, 1817-Jan. 14, 1858, April 27, 1861, and April 1 1873 includes: a copy of the proclamation from Gov. William Woodbridge of the Territory of Michigan that the island willbe a separate township (page 1, March 15, 1817). Also included are various ordinances, copies of acts, election results, and meeting minutes of borough and village officers. There are 21 blank pages towards the end of the volume, an unfinished sketch of a crest or seal, and an ink blotter (trade card) of a fire insurance agent, William H. Daniels and Company (Cheboygan, Mich.) inside the back cover.
